  • 12.04.19

What a year 2019 has been! I have added 47 new recipes thus far, along with cooking classes and enjoyed some amazing travel experiences (and some very delicious foods along the way).

As we reflect on the last 12 months, here are the 5 most shared recipes of 2019. If you have not yet tried these, then I encourage you to give them a whirl — they could become new family favorites:

Breaded Orange Roughy

The thinner the slices of potatoes are, the faster they will cook. Also, to save cooking time, the potatoes can be placed in a hot boiling salted water pan for 5 minutes and then proceed with the below recipe. Do however, keep in mind to not over-salt the potatoes if using this method. I also enjoy mozzarella cheese, nice and gooey. However, any Gruyere of Emmenthal cheese will be fine also.

Butter Lettuce with Shallots Vinaigrette

We love salad in our family. Ever since I can remember, I have enjoyed a crispy butter lettuce with a vinaigrette. I learned how to make it at an early age from my dad, the process has stayed with me. A simple sauce created by blending vinegar, olive oil and salt. Of course, you can add to it shallots, fines herbs such as thyme, tarragon, chives or cooked eggs. You can also replace the vinegar with fresh lemon juice.

Ricotta Meatballs

Instead of frying the meatballs on the stove (which is what some recipes call for), I decided to bake them. The result was fantastic, less greasy and lot faster. It is also worth mentioning they did not fall apart in the oven. We are hooked and decided to enjoy them over a bed of Mezzi Rigatoni pasta. We also had them warm up with a salad for lunch and they were delicious.

Pork Chops with Mango Habanero Sauce

The mango and habanero are perfect partners in this recipe. The sweetness of the mango with the orange juice, taper down the heat content of the habanero. I am a mild heat eater, however, feel free to add more of the chopped habanero as to your level of comfort.

Strawberry Apple Pie

Perfect at any occasion and celebration, I found that a fruit pie, in this instance Strawberry and Apple Pie, satisfies every palate. Not too sweet or heavy and after a big meal a light dessert is always welcome.

I hope that you enjoy all of these recipes and share them with your family and friends!

Bon Appetit,
