My 5 Favorite Recipes of 2019

  • 12.13.19

Another year is almost over, and I thought it would be an ideal time to share my 5 favorite recipes of 2019. I hope your family enjoys them as much as ours does!

Pappardelle with Spanish Spiced Shrimps

I was introduced to this wonderful recipe while staying in Amsterdam with my dear friend and chef Eliane of  “Born to Taste” . We worked on this recipe using sous-vide method. I loved the flavors so much, that I found myself craving it. Now it is a staple in our house, and our friends love it too. I have decided to create this using the stove top. This is faster, but just as juicy and full of flavor. We never have any leftovers.

Coquille St Jacques

I was so intimidated by this recipe, that I never wanted to try it for fear of failure. But sometimes you must go out of your comfort zone and face your fears. Can you believe that this has now become one of easiest dishes for me to prepare? I can’t believe that I waited so long to try this classic French recipe. The scallops are tender and full of the mushroom sauce that surrounds them. It can be served as a simple appetizer or a main dish.

Coquilles St Jacques

Grilled Salmon with Olives and Pine Nuts

In Paris, I was introduced to this wonderful recipe in a cookbook by Yotam Ottolenghi. What I love most is that he pushes the boundaries by taking a classic dish, and adding new flavors, herbs and spices. The end result: I am in love with everything that I make from his book, but especially this particular recipe. It is healthy and fun.

Caramelized Shallots with NY Steak

You need to try this dish to truly appreciate how delicious it is. To start with, I love shallots. The balsamic vinegar with sugar creates such a hearty caramel rich in flavor. Trust me, you are in for a real treat.

Marinated and Stuffed Filet Mignons with Merlot Habanero Sauce

I must say that everyone in my house was speechless at the first bite. The filet mignons is as tender as can be, and the cheese and pine nuts are quite addictive. The sauce over the filets, which is the marinate simply reduced, is out of this world. It has a hint of heat, but once you bite into it, you will not feel it anymore.

I will admit it was hard picking my favorite recipes of 2019, because I love them all so much. But I do believe that these 5 in particular will make you and your family go “wow”. I hope you give them all a try very soon.

Bon Appetit!
