This is the simplest, most delicious, sinful fresh strawberry dessert you can ever imagine having.

Refreshing sweet strawberries that are gently either quartered or sliced marinated with sugar and served over either homemade vanilla ice cream or, if you are like me and do not have an ice cream maker, then store-bought would work like a charm.

It takes two minutes to cut the fresh fruits and twenty minutes to rest, but you can have so much fun with it.

Adding a spin to this easy strawberry vanilla ice cream recipe.

You did not think I would let you sneak away without suggesting some wonderful options to enjoy this dessert, did you?

I love to use fresh berries, no substitution there.

If the fancy strikes, add some fresh raspberries, and blackberries to the mix. With the abundance of summer berries, you just have to pick.

You can add any liquor to it?

Here comes the fun part. To enhance the strawberry flavor, you can add a bit, and this is only for the adults, of rum, whiskey to the sliced strawberries and let them sit in the refrigerator for 20 minutes up to a couple of hours.

The above is one of my favorite way of serving them, however, as I said, it is optional of course.

Another way to have fun enjoying this, for adults only is this next option. Just serve the ice cream in your chilled cups, cover it with the strawberries and then add a tablespoon or more of whiskey. Rum, Gin, or Vodka will work well too.

This way you have a bit more control of the alcohol content, and so much fun too as everyone can pick the poison of their choice.

Strawberries with Vanilla Ice Cream

Is this the perfect dessert for a pool party?

Absolutely! Look no further than this recipe. Perfect and so appreciated. Not to mention how fantastic it is served at a potluck.

Your friends will love you for it. Refreshing, sweet,  and lots of fun.

Serve it in small glasses, and you have an impressive dessert with no fuss. Who does not like that in the summer?

I do not have an ice cream machine, but can you imagine how luscious this dessert would be if you used heavy cream, egg yolks, vanilla extract, and or vanilla bean?

Mouthwatering for sure, and now I need to get a machine.

Enjoy and let your imagination go wild…

TIP

  • Time permitting, place the glasses you will be serving this dessert in the refrigerator so they can be nice and cold and your ice cream will not melt as fast.
  • Make more than you think you need, as this dish always has the tendency to disappear faster than any other dish.
